Diesel Mechanic

Job Details

Marine Vacuum Service is seeking a Diesel Mechanic to join our team. In this full-time position, you will help maintain and repair a fleet of light-duty to heavy-duty commercial vehicles, including diesel trucks, tanker trucks, and semis.

We’re looking for someone dependable, hardworking, and skilled in diagnosing and fixing a wide range of mechanical issues to keep our operations running smoothly and safely.

Prior experience is helpful, but we're most interested in someone who’s eager to learn, adaptable, and ready to grow with us. Training is paid and provided to qualified applicants.

  • Location: Seattle

  • Base Pay Range: $23 - $30 Hourly – Dependent on Experience (DOE)

  • Overtime & Prevailing Wages: Available, Not Guaranteed

  • Job-Type: Part-Time or Full-Time

  • Shift & Schedule: Mon to Fri 7:30am-4:00pm

Qualifications
  • Experience as a diesel mechanic (light to heavy-duty vehicles)

  • Comfortable working on heavy machinery and mechanical systems

Responsibilities
  • Inspect, maintain, and repair diesel engines, heavy trucks, and tanker trucks

  • Perform regular maintenance and emergency repairs on heavy machinery and operational equipment

  • Conduct routine preventative maintenance and safety inspections

Handyman / Facility Maintenance Technician

Marine Vacuum Service is seeking a reliable and well-rounded Handyman / Facility Maintenance Technician to support the upkeep and functionality of our operations. This full-time role is perfect for someone who enjoys a variety of hands-on tasks, is mechanically inclined, and takes pride in keeping things running smoothly behind the scenes. The ideal candidate will take initiative in maintaining our facilities, supporting operational equipment, and contributing to the overall safety and efficiency of the property. You’ll play a key role in ensuring both the buildings and the specialized systems that support our work are in top working order.

Responsibilities

  • Perform general building and grounds maintenance tasks (plumbing, electrical, fabrication, carpentry, basic HVAC, etc.)

  • Troubleshoot and resolve maintenance issues as they arise

  • Assist in facility upgrades and preventative maintenance efforts

  • Coordinate with vendors or contractors when necessary for specialized repairs

  • Maintain clean and organized workspaces

General Laborer

Marine Vacuum Service is an Industrial and Environmental Tank Cleaning Company as well as a Wastewater Treatment Facility. With a fully functioning oil and water recycling plant, we are in need of General Laborer personnel to help maintain the equipment and facility, and field work as tank cleaners.

  • Supports operations by preparing and cleaning work sites; maintaining supplies and materials; performing steps in work processes; maintaining records.

  • Assist with oil spill clean ups in addition to pump and washing tanks, marine vessels, construction and industrial sites

  • Provide assistance in the yard to help process incoming material

  • Prepares work site by obtaining and delivering equipment, tools, supplies, and materials.

  • Maintains clean and safe work site; disposing of hazardous materials; following safety rules and procedures; wearing personal protective equipment.

  • Maintains work supplies and materials by reading work orders; locating and verifying items in inventory; loading items on trucks or pull-carts; moving items to site; unloading items.

  • Returns items to storage inventory by loading, moving, and unloading items.

  • Maintains work records by entering production statistics, and materials and supplies used

  • Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities

  • Accomplishes organization goals by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments

  • Transport approved product to and from customers, which includes assistance with loading and unloading and ensuring delivery of completed job paperwork

  • Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections, fuel the truck as needed, and report any problems or issues to supervisor

  • Follow all DOT (Department of Transportation) standards and regulations

  • Follow and implement all company safety policies and procedures

  • Ability to work overtime as needed
